Vampire Diaries Casting News - Cassidy Freeman to Guest Star

Cassidy Freeman (aka Smallville's Tess Mercer) is set to appear in TVD in a mysterious and delicious-sounding new role.

However, Freeman won’t be playing your typical temptress. While she will be drawing people to her, she won’t be doing it in the present day. She’ll appear in flashbacks to 1912, where she will be having herself some fun with Damon and Stefan as well as the Original family. What her goal is is unknown. All we know at this point is her name is Sage and she is “sexy and fearless, with a devilish smile.” So she’s hot, not afraid of vampires and is probably evil incarnate. Well that could apply to just about anyone, so what will make her special?

You can expect to see her in 3x16 (apparently named 1911) with the potential to become a recurring character. If she does end up recurring, maybe we’ll see her in the present day.

Joseph Morgan talks Caroline and Klaus

Can we get a quick OMG?

In one of our favorite "Vampire Diaries" moments ever, Klaus and Caroline made an intense connection in tonight's episode after Tyler bit her and she needed Klaus's blood to survive. (Uh, the diamond birthday gift didn't hurt, either.)

We've tossed around the idea of Caroline and Klaus as a couple before, and now it seems more legitimate than ever. We spoke with Joseph Morgan tonight at the Television Critics Association Press Tour party to get some scoop on the budding relationship.

Vampire Diaries Q&A's about 'The New Deal'

If you thought the power had truly shifted in The Vampire Diaries when Stefan (Paul Wesley) kidnapped Klaus (Joseph Morgan)’s family and their coffins, then you may be underestimating the show, let alone Klaus himself. Strip a man-- or a vampire, or a hybrid, whatever-- of the ones he loves, and he spirals. What that looks like depends on the individual involved, and in the case of “The New Deal” and Klaus, it looks like sticking around Mystic Falls to torment and threaten, and yes, brood, until he gets what he wants. But he isn’t the only one spiraling when The Vampire Diaries returns. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is hurting, too, with the final straw being Bonnie (Kat Graham)’s break-up. Because of both of those things, relationships are being tested in new and more complicated ways, creating new pairings and therefore new drama. Here is what you wanted to know about “The New Deal,” and what we can reveal prior to The Vampire Diaries’ return:

Vampire Diaries - Elena Allows the Romantic Tension with Damon to Come Out and Play

When The Vampire Diaries returns on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8/7c on The CW,  Elena may finally be ready to say goodbye to Stefan and welcome in Damon's love.
"[Elena and Damon] are trying very hard to understand that the Stefan that they know is gone forever and that he betrayed them," executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com. "Elena understands ... that ultimately it's time for her to move on with her life and not hold onto a ghost of her past."

3x10 'The New Deal' - Official Synopsis

A REASON TO FEEL GUILTY — Stefan (Paul Wesley) has hidden the coffins containing the bodies of Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) family, and Klaus quickly turns to violence to convince Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) that no one will be safe until he finds Stefan and gets his family back. Tyler (Michael Trevino) continues to make the most of his new abilities as a hybrid, but he has to face the disturbing consequences of his actions as well. After a terrifying incident, Elena and Alaric (Matt Davis) grow increasingly concerned about Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) attitude and, ultimately, his safety. Alaric meets the beautiful Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto, “Pretty Little Liars”), who is intrigued with his amazing ability to heal. While trying to strike a deal with Klaus, Elena delivers news that truly shocks him. Kat Graham also stars and internet personality Justine Ezarik guest stars as a bartender. John Behring directed the episode written by Michael Narducci (#310).

Vampire Diaries - First Look At Torrey DeVitto

Torrey DeVitto loves her role as Melissa on Pretty Little Liars, and she's thrilled with her guest arc on The CW's The Vampire Diaries, which begins January 5. Why? Her husband, Paul Wesley, stars as Stefan!

DeVitto plays Dr. Fell, who is "intrigued by Alaric (Matt Davis) because he recuperated miraculously from what seemed like a fatal injury, and that sparks an attraction between them." Can we expect liplocks? "Quite possibly," she says.

So how did she prepare her hubby? "I said, 'Just go to the set like it's a normal day at the office!'"

Vampire Diaries Cast The New Original Brothers

British actor Casper Zafer and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic have been tapped to play the recurring roles of Finn and Kol, respectively, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Both brothers have a bone to pick with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), especially since they've been locked up in those coffins Klaus has been carting around for so long.
