Torrey DeVitto Interview

Part of an interview with Torrey DeVitto...

As for Vampire Diaries, it was probably a similar situation where you came on not knowing how meaty the role would be, right?
Totally. I got offered to do a 3 episode arc, and it just keeps going. I flip through every script to see if Meredith dies in it and so far, that hasn't happened. It's been so much fun. I feel so fortunate. I just got the latest script and immediately went to see if I die in it. I won't say if I do or not, but that happens with every script.

Not only are you still alive, but you got the big cliffhanger moment in the last episode before hiatus!
Totally! Paul [Wesley] said to me, "It ends on you!" It's so awesome and such a huge compliment. They've given me a lot of good cliffhangers all along, so it's been very cool.

Will we have to wait long to find out what happened after that gunshot?
Not very long. But it's interesting – fans will enjoy what happens

Well TVD never does the expected, so I can't imagine Meredith killed Alaric and that's all there is to it.
[laughs] I know, right – could you imagine if it opened up on Alaric’s funeral!?! No, they really don't ever do what's expected and that's true here as well.

What are you excited for fans to see about this next batch of Vampire Diaries episodes?
You learn a lot about Meredith -- you'll see her unfold and learn a lot about where she's coming from. Her personality comes through a lot more.

Vampire Diaries 3x17 Official Synopsis

Ep 17 - 'Break On Through'

FAMILY HISTORIES — A century after their first encounter, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman) meet again at the ceremony to kick-off the restoration of Wickery Bridge. Damon is surprised to learn the reason Sage has returned, and pleased when she devises an unusual method to help him figure out what Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) is up to. Abby [guest star Persia White] is having a hard time adjusting to her new reality, despite Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline’s (Candice Accola) efforts to help. When Damon informs Elena (Nina Dobrev) of Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) latest struggles, she reaches out to Stefan to help her save a friend in danger, in hopes that it will help bring Stefan even closer to his humanity. Finally, when Damon discovers a new secret weapon, he lets Stefan in on the news. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Rebecca Sonnenshine (##317).

Damon and Stefan's rift explained in 3x16 '1912'

When The Vampire Diaries flashed back to the early 1900s to explore Stefan's ripper origins, Damon was very much absent from his brother's life. When the CW series travels to that era again, viewers will see exactly how the rift between the Salvatore boys was created.

"You start to see the rebirth of Damon Salvatore and where he was in 1912," Ian Somerhalder says. "You learn a lot about the dynamic of Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Damon and how it changed."

Although the pair has had more than a century of ups and downs, Somerhalder is confident that the strength of their brotherhood outweighs their differences — even the ones that involve a certain brunette named Elena (Nina Dobrev). "These guys could've killed each other a hundred times and they can't. They just cannot end it," he says. "They're the only two that know each other and understand each other ... and at the end of the day they do love each other and they have to take care of each other."

Which TV couple will 'Seal the Deal'? Will it be a TVD couple?

Michael Ausiello at TV Line posted on 26th February several hints that a popular TV Couple will have hook up and seal the deal. All of us TVD addicts are hoping the clues refer to a TVD couple...

Your clues are as follows:

* The duo in question is on a popular network series.

* Their nookie will not be of the “dream sequence” sort — it’s for real, yo.

* Their boosters will be pleased.

* Well, most of their boosters will be pleased. A few will probably grumble that it’s too soon, and the show is skipping too many beats in the pair’s unrequited love story for their coming together to be truly satisfying. (Mind you, a few people were always going to grumble, weren’t they?)

* The hook-up will take place during May sweeps. Okay, technically, that isn’t a clue. But it does seem germane, wouldn’t you say?

Today, Ausiello tweeted another clue which leaves TVD still in the running.

Today (4th April) Ausiello tweeted another clue... and once again, TVD is still a possibility!

So, if we get what we wish and it is of course a TVD couple, who would you most like it to be?
Delena? Stelena? Klaroline? Or someone else?

Another Decade Dance in Mystic Falls

Its almost Decade Dance time again in Mystic Falls! We've already had a 1950's and a 1960's dance. Its time for a trip down Memory Lane for Stefan and Rebekah at least. Stefan can re-live his ripper days in 2012. This time Mystic falls is going back to the 1920's.

Julie Plec tweeted about the dance on Tuesday saying "I swear I must've been a songbird in the 20's. This makes me WAY too happy," along with a link to a 20's jazz song "That Man"

As we know, dances in Mystic Falls are always eventful and deadly but what will this one bring?
Stefan and Rebekah romance?
Stefan and Klaus bromance?
Damon and Elena dance?

One thing's for sure, if rebekah makes it to this dance without being daggered, she will most certainly be in her element!

CW announce season 3 finale date for TVD.

The Vampire Diaries Season 3 is drawing to an end, on May 10th to be exact! The CW announced the shows finale today, how are you feeling? Excited, nervous, scared.. or all of the above?

Joseph Morgan Quick Questions and Answers

Do you think Klaus will develop a crush on Elena like every other character in Mystic Falls does?
“I think it’s possible, the show is centred around her and so I wonder whether there would be a crush.
“We know he wants her to be safe because of her blood, what with her being the key to him creating more hybrids, so there’s that element already there. I think there’s definitely potential for that.
“It depends where they want to take it on the show, I don’t know if it would be reciprocated by her, he put her through a lot of dramatic experiences, so she’d have to be pretty forgiving! In fact there are moments I’ve found where I’ve been playing it and I wanted to show some kind of desire in the way he looks at her to make it more interesting.”
Do you have much freedom with where you take Klaus?
“Yeah, the writers and the creators of the show are really generous. There are definitely boundaries that are set up, I’d never say 'Well I don’t like this scene but let’s put a scene where this happened instead’; but they’re open to suggestions. I more layer the character than anything.
“People approach me on Twitter and say ‘Don’t kill this character’ and I really don’t have a say in that!”
What is your favourite thing about playing a hybrid?
“It’s just interesting. I’ve always been a fan of the genre, and playing a vampire is one thing, but what I’m trying to do is play this guy who’s been around 1000 years who’s cultured but incredibly vicious.
“There are elements of the animal as well which is a really interesting mix - he’s not completely aggressive and animalistic but there is element of that that goes with the suave nature of the vampire.
“To use the combined attributes of the supernatural creatures and still make this guy a believable person is fun. I’m always trying to find out the truth in someone, always studying them, breathing them in.
“There’s a fight sequence I filmed that hasn’t been aired yet and I wanted him to move like a werewolf so we don’t forget that."
Are Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev inseparable on set?
“Well they film different scenes! Well they don’t turn up when each other are filming like, 'Heeeyyy' they’re far too busy for that. So no. They just come in and do they’re job.”
Why are you so fit?
“Because I go to the gym! If they think that they should see me first thing in the morning, I look like a monster when I get out of bed!”

Vampire Diaries 3x16 Official Synopsis

Ep 16 - '1912'

THE MURDER MYSTERY DEEPENS — The present-day murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon (Ian Somerhalder) of a similar crime spree a century earlier. In flashbacks to 1912, Damon recalls a beautiful vampire, Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman), who showed him a whole new way to exist. Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) warns Damon not to get involved in her investigation, but Damon is convinced she’s going after the wrong suspect. Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Matt (Zach Roerig) resort to breaking and entering in their search for evidence to prove Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto) is a murderer. For reasons known only to her, Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), becomes interested in locating one of the town’s oldest landmarks. Finally, Elena comes to a new understanding of the path her life has taken, and Damon makes an emotional confession to Stefan (Paul Wesley).

Daniel Gillies Talks Elijah - Taking Elena Hostage Was The Ultimate Disgrace

When The Vampire Diaries' Elijah was introduced in Season 2, he wasn't supposed to stick around long. More than a year after his arrival the character remains one of the most popular in the show's history.
"In the beginning I was a very old vampire who was going to live like two episodes," Daniel Gillies explains to TVGuide.com. "They didn't know I was going to be a brother, I just was a henchman." But Elijah has transformed from being terrifyingly powerful in his knowledge and skills, to a still powerful vampire, but one with a distinct moral compass and compassion for Elena who Gillies calls a warrior.

Fans can't get enough of the Original, despite the immense threat he poses to the Salvatore Brothers, among others. Gillies has his own theories as to his character's popularity. "When Elijah shows his face you know things are going to happen," he says. "When he turns up he's exposition and movement and the story is taking flight — or maybe fans just like his multiple haircuts."
While Elijah prides himself on not being driven by impulsive rage like his brother Klaus, Gillies says that his actions towards Elena in last week's episode were so terrifying that it's the reason he fled town at the end.
"Elena came quite close to peril and closer to peril than he ever thought she would and there's a disgrace in that," Gillies says. "He can be vicious and can be strategic, but he's never reckless and this was one of the few times on the show we've seen him be absolutely reckless in order to get what he needed. Sure, it was his life and the life of his brothers and sister, but placing Elena in the position of being a hostage was probably something he would change if he could go back or at least make certain she wasn't in true danger."

Despite Elijah's upcoming absence (which we hope and assume will be temporary), Gillies has quite a few ideas as to who he'd like to work with in the future.
"I really enjoy my scenes with Ian Somerhalder. There's something very funny about those two in a scene together — they're sort of an odd couple," Gillies says. "Elijah is the sadistic, quiet, calm zinger- type comedy, whereas Damon is this snarky, sometimes bitchy and tempestuous vampire. Of course, if I could team up with anybody, I just feel like if Klaus and Elijah could ever solve their differences the world would be theirs."

Candice Accola says Caroline and Bonnie Are Teaming Up

The Vampire Diaries' Candice Accola says that Caroline and Bonnie are going to continue to grow much closer.
In last week's episode, "All My Children," Caroline consoled Bonnie when her mother, Abby, was turned into a vampire. While it's always been Elena by Bonnie's side, Acccola says Caroline will be the one she turns to since her relationship with Elena is strained.

"Caroline and Bonnie are at a very strong place," Accola says. "Last season there was a rough spot between Caroline and Bonnie being that when Caroline turned into a vampire it was everything that Bonnie was against, but Caroline has proven she's a good friend."

Joseph Morgan Says Nobody Is Safe!

The Vampire Diaries star Joseph Morgan has admitted no one is safe in the hit show.
The British actor joined Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley in the last series as evil vampire Klaus, but revealed everyone in the cast knows they could be killed off at any time.
Joseph said: "Sometimes there isn't much notice."
"The nature of the show is that they have to kill off characters that people love and that are regular on the show, because the stakes have got to be high. You can't assume that people are safe because it takes away the tension."
"I would like to assume that Nina and Paul and Ian Somerhalder are safe because you just think they are the show really. But you just never know. They've done some pretty big twists and some pretty nasty things before."
"I remember toward the end of last season Ian talking to [series developer] Julie Plec and saying 'Just give me a heads up if you're going to do anything'. And I remember thinking, if he's scared I should be terrified."
Joseph admitted: "I don't want to be killed off. I've been trying to find out about my character but they're very tight lipped about the show."
