We'll soon find out that Katherine wasn't the only woman who came between Klaus and Elijah. Back in the 1800s, Klaus was entangled with a stunning Creole woman named Celeste, who also had a fondness for Elijah, who wasn't as busy as his brother keeping the residents of New Orleans in check. I'm sure that'll end well!

Vampire Diaries Spoiler From TV Guide - 16th July 2013
How about both? One of Stefan's numerous exes will pop up this season... with a vengeance. Tessa is a fellow vampire, natch, and she's spent centuries hunting down the Salvatores. She'll first tangle with Damon, whose daylight ring will conspicuously go missing in her presence — and that's really bad.

Jesse Has Been Cast
Nadia Has Been Cast
The recurring character, who will be introduced in the Oct. 10 premiere, “will ally herself with anybody — and employ any tactic — to further her own mysterious agenda,” read the initial casting breakdown. “An emotional chameleon, she can flip from stone-cold to flirtatious as it suits her needs. But the loneliness of her singular quest has taken its toll on her humanity, and she finds herself increasingly lost when it comes to genuine human connection.”

Candice Accola Interview
Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries — when do you go back?
We go back at the beginning of July for Season 5. Coming right up. It's exciting to go back to Atlanta with a whole new family there, as well, that will be filming for The Originals. I'm so excited for Julie Plec. She has three shows on the network right now. Tomorrow People, The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries. The family has been doing wonderful. She's blowing up.
What do you want to see for Caroline in Season 5?
What I find, it can be tricky sometimes for shows to transition into the college years. What I find very fortunate about The Vampire Diaries, and what has been going well, is they don't go to high school that much. It's kind of a running joke because you never see the kids in high school. So the idea of them going to college is not going to be that jarring of a transition because so much happens outside of the school environment. I think the girls are going to college, we're going to find out more about Silas, and Stefan's character. For Caroline in particular, I think it would be fun for her to go to college, and not think about Klaus. Be single for a little bit and see what she wants, like every girl who goes off to college.
Why should she be single — to help find her identity?
Yeah, I think it's important to go into your college years with an open mind, and focus on yourself, what you want in life. The running joke is when fans of the show ask, I tell them, especially the female fans, is I'm looking out for their best interests. Because we have to hire more good-looking men on the show.
How will Caroline feel about Bonnie becoming a ghost?
Caroline doesn't know yet that Bonnie is dead. So this is I'm sure going to be a big shock to her. She will have many emotions and feelings on that matter. But right now going into Season 5, she doesn't know that Bonnie is dead, she doesn't know that Stefan is in a coffin, and she definitely doesn't know that Klaus has a baby on the way. So Caroline has a whole bunch of stuff to learn in the next season!

Spoiler From TV Guide - 9th July 2013
Elena and Caroline will find college to be much more difficult than they anticipated when they stumble into a class led by a hot, but not-so-nice professor who knows more about Mystic Falls than he's letting on. Does it scare anyone else that his true passion is research that he believes will help humanity?
Spoiler From TV Line - 9th July 2013
Can’t help you on the Delena front, but there’s buzz that the show is casting a male doctor who knows alllllll of Damon’s secrets.

The Originals Interview With Phoebe Tonkin
Your character obviously has a huge life change occurring. How do you think she’s going to process this?
I think at the moment, Hayley is just holding on for her life right now, because she knows that if Klaus doesn’t help these witches that she is in a lot of trouble. So I think maybe in the next episode, we’re really going to see Hayley actually deal with the information that she is pregnant and that she is a young woman with a child, or a child about to come.
Vampire Diaries just had the characters graduate from high school, but The Originals seems to be beginning with more adult characters and topics. Is it fun for you to make that transition?
Yeah, it’s nice. Every show I’ve done for eight years, I’ve played high school, so it’s kind of nice not having lines like, “Oh, I’ve gotta get to class.” It’s nice to play a young adult finally. I’ve been playing 16 for a long time. And you know, also having an issue like pregnancy with it, an unplanned pregnancy, is a very real topical issue, and it’s nice to explore an issue like that within a supernatural world.
Klaus, at the end of the pilot episode, talked about having an heir and wanting be the “king.” Would he embrace Hayley as his queen or is it simply, “Well, she’s giving me a child.”
I think it's just the child will be the heir. I think he’ll be focusing on that child more than his queen. [Laughs]
Do you think Hayley is going to be trying to make that change for him?
I think those two go together very much as a one-night kind of thing. But now that they’ve been face to face, I think they’re going to have to reassess their relationship with each other.
Spoiler From TV Guide - 2nd July 2013
Sorry, Forwood fans: Even though Klaus decamped for New Orleans, Tyler still may not have a shot at a reunion with Caroline, who's quite popular with one particular guy at college. One problem: He's not a fan of fangs — for a very good reason.

Spoiler From TV Line - 2nd July 2013
Tyler who? There’s nothing like a cute older college boy to make you temporarily forget the show’s MIA hybrid hunk. That’s what happens when Caroline meets Jesse, a hot, smart, confident and disarmingly sweet upperclassman at Whitmore. Among the other fresh faces in the season opener: smartypants Megan, who attends Mystic Falls High’s 1950s dance and attempts to charm the pants off Jeremy, and Eastern European beauty Nadia, who crosses paths with Matt and Rebekah at a Prague bar — and comes on to both of them?! — before delivering an ominous warning to Stefan about The Originals.

Leah Pipes Interview
What was it about The Originals that you believed would be able to mirror that ability to evoke an obsession?
The Originals is going to be an epic showdown of supernatural forces, and that was very evident in the pilot. I just wanted to be a part of that [laughs]. I am the human on the show, so I might be more of the observer than the warrior, but I loved the pilot script and since then I've watched The Vampire Diaries and just can't get enough. The love affairs, the enemies, the alliances, the politics -- it's so gripping. Plus, I like that The Originals skews a little older; it has more Game of Thrones elements to it.
Since you don't own a TV, I'll assume you were unaware of the massively passionate fanbase Julie Plec and The Vampire Diaries has. Who was the one who explained what you were getting yourself into?
Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus sat me down when I first flew into Atlanta, and he told me that being on this show has completely changed his life. One of the things he pointed out is that he has charities that his fans have raised huge amounts of money for on Twitter. I really love that there's so much passion behind these fans. And now that we're picked up for a first season, I love the excitement from people on Twitter. I appreciate it so much.
Why did you want to play Cammy?
Cammy has so many layers. I was told by Julie that the reason she picked me for this role is that in the first audition she asked where I was from and said Pasadena. She asked if I was a Rose Princess, and I said, "No, I was a feminist." That sold her [laughs]. Cammy's also a really intelligent girl; she's studying psychology, she's interested in dark aspects of the brain but believes everyone is inherently good. She's not hiding from the bad parts of the world, but she still believes everyone is good and wants to bring that out in them. And who doesn't want to be more like that? I hope I can learn from her.
As the lone human in this world, how long do you think she could or should stay in the dark?
Yeah, it's like Cammy and the tourists wearing fannypacks ... and they're all definitely going to die, so it'll just be me [laughs]. As of now, she's working at a bar, owned by Sophie, who is a witch. So I can see them having a friendship. She also seems to be creating a friendship with Klaus and it sounds like Marcel is trying to groom her to be his queen; I don't know if someone will spill the beans or she will put two and two together, but she has no human friends, it can't take that long!
If she goes from human to supernatural creature during the series, which of the three would you prefer she become?
If that does happen, I hope there's a fight over what I become. "She's becoming a witch!" "She's becoming a werewolf!" "She's becoming a vampire!" [laughs] Maybe I'll be all three -- some super witchy hybrid thing! Yes! Let's do that! And if that happens, Cammy will be the first female president of the United States! Who'd run against her?

Spoiler From TV Guide - 11th June 2013
Yes, Hayley and Klaus are having a vamp/hybrid/were-baby together, but their connection pretty much ends there. "Hayley is, by no means, the Cinderella in the Klaus love story," executive producer Julie Plec says. "Hayley is a girl who's pretty tough, fiery, an independent spirit, a survivor in her own right who got drunk, had sex and got knocked up. She's going to have her own journey. She's not really meant to be a threat to Klaus' love life. If anything, she's the portal into his redemption."

Spoiler From TV Line - 28th May 2013
Prepare for a rush of college kids! “We’re definitely going to be entering an entire new world at Whitmore College, so we’ll get to meet new friends and new enemies,” reveals exec producer Julie Plec. “There’ll be a lot of new people entering our universe that we’ll get to know well — and then also maybe some new romantic interests for some of our characters.”

Charles Michael Davis Interview On The Originals
What was your initial reaction to The Originals making it onto the CW’s Fall 2013 line-up?
I was pretty confident from the beginning that The Originals was going to be picked up because I watch The Vampire Diaries and think it’s just such an amazing show — but of course you can’t celebrate until you receive confirmation. But we were picked up to series the day right after the [backdoor] pilot aired so I was feeling great. To film a pilot and have it air and then you get a response so soon? I was overjoyed. I really was.
Did you do anything special to celebrate? We saw you and Leah Pipes tweeted about making a smoothie run.
Yes! That did happen actually. We got a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. Non-dairy. It was delicious. All my dreams came true. And here I am right now! (Laughs)
Will we get glimpses into Marcel’s past at all?
You’ll definitely learn more about how he got to this point in his life. He was a street rat, kind of came from nothing, and he’s crafty. And so I think we’re going to discover firsthand what that experience was like for Marcel — of growing up on the streets of New Orleans and making that turn; of becoming confident and transitioning from an Aladdin life into a leadership role.
What’s your secret confidence trick when slipping into character as Marcel?
I watch a lot of Ray Lewis videos. That swagger that he comes out with is so intense and incredible and me being a former athlete — I can relate to that. And it gets me going. I pound my chest. I jump and down. I scream. (Laughs)
What is at the top of your Originals wish list?
I hope that Kol comes back and lives. He’s a really interesting character and I think there are a lots of stories to explore there.

Spoiler From TV Guide - 22nd May 2013
Maybe not facing off, but perhaps switching off? "One thing we're looking forward to so much next season is Elena on her own as a vampire and living her new life in college," executive producer Julie Plec explains. "And to see a vulnerable Katherine, who is able to be hurt and able to be killed and in need of the protection much like the first Elena we met four years ago." Oh, and get this — she says it'll be fun.
