Nathaniel Buzolic Told To Bronze Up

HE'S never thought of himself as pasty, so it came as a surprise to Sydney actor Nathaniel Buzolic when he was told to "bronze up" to play a vampire on hit American series, The Vampire Diaries.

He's landed a dream role after only a few years working the Hollywood audition circuit.

"They actually coloured me up a bit," Buzolic says. "I was too fair. The vampires are quite well tanned over there."

Buzolic, joined the cast as an original vampire called Kol, filming the show in Atlanta at the end of last year.
"People say I look like a vampire," he says.
"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not."

Ian Somerhalder Interview On ISFoundation

On his 32nd birthday (December 8, 2010), Somerhalder created the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which focuses on creating awareness about central topics: habitat conservation, species protection, and green energy initiatives.  The charity raises money to distribute to notable charities who work to protect each of the topics ISF tries to raise awareness for. One of the things that attracted this organization to me was that it really promotes working together. We're all creatures of the Earth, so any change that happens is going to need to come from ALL OF US. It's incredible for a charity to come along and say, "We're going to try to link everyone together." Most charities try to do their own thing.

Somerhalder recently spoke in front of Congress to introduce ISF, in which he explained, "environmental conservation has not just been a passion of mine, but a priority." He went on to say, "When I began to find through my work as an actor that I was gaining an increasingly prominent platform from the American public, I knew immediately what I needed to do.  The IS Foundation is my attempt to use this opportunity of the share of the public's attention for the greater good."

Ian was gracious enough to take a few minutes out of his busy Vampire Diaries' schedule to answer a few questions about some of the topics his foundation aims to eliminate.  Along with Ian, we were also able to ask a few questions of the IS Foundation's Executive Director, Kim Klingler, who Ian has said is the backbone of the ISF team.

ISF covers a wide variety of issues, from deforestation to animal cruelty to going green. What is your main goal? You've mentioned that we all have to work together, with each other & with the planet to save it, essentially, has this idea been easy to instill in people since the creation of ISF?

Deforestation- why is it important to spread the facts about what cutting down forests does to our planet? I love that you refer to it as "taking away the lungs" of the planet.

Can you explain a little bit about how medical research is affected by animal extinction? How much of an impact extinction of different species actually has?

What are your thoughts on the Internet & social media? It takes people farther and farther away from nature, but it allows organizations like yours to grow rapidly? Yay/nay?

Okay, so how can all of us get involved?
Where do our donations go?

Daniel Gillies on his TVD Return, Reunion and Upcoming Episode

TV Fanatic tried to get Daniel Gillies to spill some details on whether or not the newly revived Original would soon be reunited with all three brothers and his sister - but he just laughed and kept making the same point when the topic arose "It's the season of the Originals, like Julie Plec said a while back. I'm just gonna hide behind that"

Elijah is Back!

For a while now, Gillies said he was "pretty confident" he'd return to Mystic Falls, expressing shock and gratitude for the fans' reaction to Elijah.
"The character just grew in popularity, more so than I ever expected him to. I've died four times and been resurrected four times. It's great"
So now that Elijah is back in the suspense-filled picture, what can we expect from him? How does he view the brother who recently placed him, once again, in "the big sleep" as Gillies referred to his dormant state?
"They're gonna have to put aside their differences. Let's face it, both of us have betrayed the other in some way, Klaus obviously more prolifically than Elijah, but Elijah has done his fair share, as well"
Referring specifically to Thursday's "Bringing Out the Dead" Gillies teased the episode will "dictate the course" of the next several installments, with "terms and parameters" getting laid out for various characters.
Gillies explains Elijah's relationship with Klaus as having been "appallingly adversarial for hundreds of years" and said if there's any love at all on his character's end, it was "suppressed" a long time ago.
At this point, Elijah has one item on his agenda: getting his family back together.
The actor doesn't know (or perhaps just can't say) how long he'll be around for this time, but he couldn't stop gushing about the cast and crew on The Vampire Diaries.
"I can't tell you how much I love my job with these guys. And I really, really love Julie Plec. She's the most considerate boss I've ever had... just so diplomatic and so careful to really listen to you when you have an issue"
That really is very nice to hear, but getting back to Klaus and Rebekah and Finn and Kol and...
"It's the season of the Originals" Gillies said again.

Vampire Diaries Casting News - Samantha Gilbert

Previously, I spoke of news of a new Gilbert coming to town named Samantha.
Samantha Gilbert has been cast. Lyndsey R Garrett has been cast to play the role.
Samantha, in her 20s, is described as a bit of a gossip, but don't expect her to cross paths with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) anytime soon.
She'll appear only during flashbacks in the episode titled "1912," airing at the end of February, as one of the town's founding family members who interacts with both Salvatore brothers.

Please leave your thoughts and theories in the comments!

Jamie Will Factor Into Bonnie’s ‘Flawed Love Life’

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) has one very good reason to return to Mystic Falls, and it goes by the name of Jamie (Robert Ri’chard.) Although Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) alleged “new love interest” didn’t get too much screen time with her on his inaugural episode of The Vampire Diaries, Robert assures HollywoodLife.com he’ll be back to make some magic happen, and soon. "There’s more story to be told, and it’ll drift towards Bonnie because, I guess, she has a pretty flawed love life,"  (Yeah, that’s a bit of an understatement.)

Like most people on the show, Robert is being kept in the dark about Jamie’s future with Bonnie, but he says viewers can likely expect the chemistry to develop between them, especially as he stays close with Bonnie’s mom Abby (Persia White.)

So when can we expect to see Jamie’s beautiful face back on our screens? I hear he’ll be popping up again for at least episodes 17 and 18, meaning we’ve got quite a while before his next sighting. I’m hoping Jeremy comes back before then, not just because I miss his crossbow-wielding antics, but I’d also love to see a Jeremy-Jamie showdown!

Jamie also answered a few random questions...

first impressions — What was it like stepping onto the show as a newbie?

“It was a really well-run set, and at first, I was intimidated by the size of the show. Going onto a show that already has such a big following, every mom, every daughter, everyone I talked to was like, ‘Wow, you’re on a really big show.’ So I just decided I was going to go in and work hard and put out a really good performance. I think I felt more pressure on this than when I guest starred on, like, CSI: Miami.”

That moment when Jamie shot Stefan was kind of a jaw-dropper. How was working with Paul Wesley?

“That kid is so talented! I’ve worked with a lot of young male leads, and I probably give him the biggest kudos, because he was effortlessly good on set. He just came in and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He was super confident, and he really made me step it up a notch to go face-to-face with him.”

Were you familiar with the show, or did you need a crash course? It’s kind of complicated.

“It’s funny, I found myself talking to cast members and asking them what was going on. I also sat down with one of the writers at lunchtime and asked him a bunch of questions. He was really helpful and definitely steered me in the right direction.”

Nina Dobrev - Nylon's February Cover Girl

We've been watching Nina Dobrev on television since her Degrassi debut - not to mention the weekly Vampire Diaries episodes that satisfy our teen bloodlust every week - but soon we'll have a chance to see the trilingual actress in a new light. (It's English, French, and Bulgarian - her home country - in case you were wondering.) This Fall, Dobrev stars with Emma Watson, Logan Lehrman, and Paul Rudd in the hotly anticipated movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She spoke with Nylon about her latest endeavor, her Twitter dilemmas, and why she should be able to play a drug addict.

On doing more films

“I want to become a different person, and that’s what working in film allows. I want to be a punk or a sweetheart or a drug addict! There are so many things to explore... Sometimes they’ll be like, ‘She’s not plain enough.’ Or ‘She’s not edgy enough.' That frustrates me. I feel like a blank canvas, and I wish people would be a little more open-minded.”

On her pet cats

“I’m gonna say I am a ‘cat woman,’ because ‘cat lady’ makes me sound 500 years old... But I love my furry friends. I even made a calendar for 2012. It’s called My Pussies: A Hairy Love Story. Cats just migrate to me. I’m pretty sure I was a cat in a past life.”

On her former Degrassi costar, Aubrey Graham (Drake.)
"He was so sweet. It’s almost weird to me that he’s a rapper and a sex symbol now. I remember being in the car going to a party, singing along with the radio, and somebody said ‘Isn’t that your buddy Drake?’ I was like, ‘Who’s Drake?'”

On being really famous.

"I can’t say I’m not interested in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their family. But it’s something you fight really hard to preserve and keep private.”

Nina Dobrev spills on the new episodes at the end of the month!

From a recent interview. This is what Nina Dobrev said about new TVD episodes.
"There’s a ball coming up in Mystic Falls and all the main players are invited. They don’t know what to expect because there’s a lot of tension and being at this party feels like it’s a ticking time bomb. Everyone is on guard waiting for it to go off. There’s drama on and off the dance floor — some of the characters connect, for better or for worse. And the last thing I can say is that there are some pretty pivotal things that are said and cannot be taken back. It will come as a huge surprise for the audience!"

Nina Dobrev Inspires Real Life Miracle

Nina Dobrev is many things: a gorgeous cover girl, a wonderful actress, a style inspiration, a People’s Choice Awards winner, and the luckiest girl in the world. Well now, I guess you can also add miracle worker to that list!

Nina received the following from a fan...

In it, a TVD viewer named Danielle describes her 3-year-old cousin’s heartbreaking struggle with cerebral palsy and how nothing but Nina’s voice seems to soothe his painful fits. To help out her young cousin (named Shane), this fan recorded movie/TV clips of Nina talking and placed them on a CD to play for him during his agonizing episodes. And instead of brushing the letter aside, Nina took action and did the sweetest thing EVER for the little boy…she bought him a teddy bear with a recording of her voice:

Seriously, if you cant call this woman amazing and inspiring after this act of kindness, I dont know what you can call her!
