The Vampire Diaries' Michael Trevino Confirms First Originals Crossover

Fans of The Vampire Diaries may be mourning the official break-up of Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline (Candice Accola) in the Oct. 31 episode. Trevino confirms to EW what most viewers have guessed: Tyler will be the first TVD character to visit the show’s New Orleans-set spinoff, The Originals. While The CW won’t confirm when  – “sometime soon,” Trevino says coyly — or for how long, we do have an idea of why: As Tyler told Caroline, he can’t be at college when all he can focus on is his desire to make Klaus (Joseph Morgan) pay for killing his mother. Caroline begged him to love her more than he hates Klaus, but Tyler said he couldn’t and walked out. ”It was actually really tough on both of us,” Trevino tells EW of shooting the teary-eyed goodbye. “In these scenes where Caroline and Tyler are going their separate ways, it’s usually that one of us is emotional and one isn’t. On this one, both of us were emotional. There were a few more takes than how it regularly goes between Candice and I.”
Tyler had just made his first appearance in season 5 one episode before he announced he was headed off again. ”A lot of fans are upset that Tyler has made the decision to leave as soon as he shows up. I’m getting a little bit of flack for it on the Twitterverse here,” Trevino says. “I just want to say everything will be explained, and I think Tyler will make it good once he shows up to The Originals…. I think everybody will be happy with Tyler’s reasoning when they see what he’s been up to and what he has planned.”
Whatever that is, it seems like a dangerous mission considering Klaus is unkillable and the center of the new show, right? “Tyler’s been dealing with Klaus for a few seasons now, and it’s always a scary feeling,” Trevino says with a laugh. “But you’ve got to think at this point, because Klaus is so powerful, that he kinda maybe deep down inside likes Tyler and likes messing around with him because it gives him something to do. Klaus is just so powerful, I figure he doesn’t want to be bored all the time. If he had Tyler hunting him every now and then, a part of him might like that a little bit.”

UPDATED - FULL SYNOPSIS

THE PARTY'S OVER - At Whitmore College, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) decide it's time to throw a big party, but their plans are interrupted when Jesse (guest star Kendrick Sampson) suddenly needs Caroline's help. At Elena's request, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) comes up with an effective method to get Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) to answer his questions. At the party, Elena finds that she and Aaron (guest star Sean Sipos) have a lot in common, and Caroline grows more concerned about Jesse. Meanwhile, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) does a favor for Matt (Zach Roerig) and manages to get through to Stefan (Paul Wesley), who is still struggling to overcome the events of the summer. Finally, Bonnie (Kat Graham) does her best to cope with her new reality, and Damon makes a terrifying discovery about a secret society. Steven R. McQueen also stars. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Brian Young & Neil Reynolds (#508)

The Vampire Diaries - Nina Dobrev & Shaun Sipos On Aaron

As Elena (Nina Dobrev) returns to college, she begins to look further into the death of her former roommate Meagan (Hayley Kiyoko) and why Professor Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) covered it up. She becomes more intrigued when she comes across Aaron (Shaun Sipos), another student who had a history with the unlucky college freshman. While their initial introduction doesn't answer Elena's questions, she eventually realizes the two are connected in ways she hadn't considered.

"Elena's hope was to go to college and start this new life but she soon learned that Mystic Falls isn't the only place overrun by vampires," Dobrev tells TVGuide.com. "When she meets Aaron ... they bond over a similar life and past and the grief and death they both had."

What's beneath Aaron's quiet and enigmatic exterior? "He is a very broken human being," Sipos says. "Elena is very intrigued by Aaron because they have a deep commonality. He's a good guy, he's just... really trying to find his way."

As for a potential romance between the two and the backlash he might face from Team Damon fans, Sipos has one thing to say: "Bring it on."

What do you think Aaron is hiding?

The Vampire Diaries - Spoiler From E! Online - 30th October 2013

What is Nadia's deal on The Vampire Diaries?! Is she a Traveller?! Is she a vampire?! I need answers.

All valid questions that we will be getting answers to…eventually. "At this point we're not really sure what her powers are. They say that she is a traveler but then she did say ‘I don't really travel, I kind of do my own thing,'"Olga Fonda teases. "I think we get to know exactly who she is and what she is in upcoming episodes. She's still a mystery at this point."

The Originals - Spoiler From TV Guide - 29th October 2013

When will ever see a Klaroline crossover on The Originals?

Not yet! Although Klaus made his feelings for Caroline well known, he's a little busy developing some feelings for another blonde — Cami (Leah Pipes). Danielle Pineda, who plays Sophie, recently shared why she thinks viewers should keep their eye on Cami and Klaus. "The story line that I really love is the one between Cami and Klaus because clearly there's an attraction there, and he's strangely so drawn to her. But that relationship is a lot deeper than people realize and where that story is heading is really cool."

Tyler is finally back on The Vampire Diaries! Please tell me he and Caroline will stay together.

Well, the good news is that Caroline and Tyler don't waste a second in making up for lost time — especially in bed. But all good things must come to an end, and unfortunately for these two, that end will happen sooner rather than later.
