How’s this, Katie: Now that baby Hope is back in town, we’ll be learning more about her, including any powers she might already be developing. “We want to explore what makes the child of Klaus, a hybrid, and Hayley, a werewolf, completely different from any other child on this planet,” exec producer Michael Narducci says. “You’ll begin to see certain signs — subtle at first, then maybe not-so-subtle — in terms of how this baby is something completely unique.”

No good, Maria. No good is coming up for Kai. Executive producer Caroline Dries says the title for the Jan. 22 episode, “Woke Up With a Monster,” is directly related to Elena and Kai’s new situation. He’s not going to lift his cloaking spell until he gets exactly what he wants — and he wants to merge.

If/when Bonnie ever does get out of the prison world and back to reality on The Vampire Diaries, Jeremy is going to notice some pretty major changes in his girlfriend. That burning Christmas tree was a symbol for Bonnie letting go of her past. ""It was definitely symbolic," executive producer Caroline Dries told us. "Bonnie was trying to see the silver lining in her situation and get out and enjoy a day where she could celebrate and reminisce and not feel sorry for herself. She tried to take the high road, and she did, but by the end of the day she realized, ‘This isn't working. I'm alone here. This sucks. Screw it.' This first chapter of Bonnie being stuck in this prison world is over, and a new badass Bonnie is emerging." Badass Bonnie? We are here. For. This!

Did you see executive producer Julie Plec's string of teasing tweets? Particularly the one about lots and lots of kissing? We can confirm that there will be at least one long-anticipated hookup, but you'll have to wait a few episodes to see it. But trust us — this steamy scene will be well worth the wait.

The Vampire Diaries - Spoiler From TV Line - 3rd December 2014
Elena may have admitted to feeling a “glimmer” of love for Damon, but don’t bank on a full-on reunion just yet, no matter how romantic the holiday season may be. Per executive producer Julie Plec, “There is mistletoe in the midseason finale, and fans are free to wish for anything they want — and also prepare for crushing disappointment in the way that we always tend to like to serve it to them.” Take that as you will.

The Vampire Diaries - Katherine Pierce's Obituary By Julie Plec
After five hundred years of running, Katherine Pierce, the ultimate mean girl and quintessential survivor, died at the hands of her former love, Stefan Salvatore. She is survived by no one. There will be no funeral. In lieu of services, please say the most horrific thing she has done to you, and take a shot. Donations can be made in her honor to the organizations she cared about most—Prada, Gucci, and Dior. Out of respect for the dead, we will make no mention of Elena Gilbert in this fauxbituary.
Katherine never ceased to surprise us as a character. She was a 500-year-old vampire and for almost all of Season 1, we had only seen her in 19th century flashbacks. So when she arrived on the scene in present day Mystic Falls, we as writers expected her to be an old-world, distinguished woman with a taste for the classics. But she wasn’t. She was a sexy, modern-day woman of the world who wore designer heels and drove an Aston Martin. One carving knife and four severed fingers later, she quickly made her way into our hearts forever.
Using both seduction and good, old-fashioned blunt force trauma as her weapons of choice, she was never afraid to do whatever it took to get what she wanted. But over the years, we really got to see what was underneath those snarky one-liners and cascading curls. Katherine wasn’t born evil. Her life made her that way. Her infant daughter was torn away from her at birth. She lost her entire family to a rampaging Klaus. And she spent the next 5 centuries running, with no real place to call home. The closest thing she had to a family was her vast network of sketchy underworld contacts.
We always knew that Katherine would be one of our leading antagonists. What we didn’t know was just how much we, and the fans, would come to love her. Ms. Pierce’s survival skills had become so good even the writers couldn’t kill her. We tried so many times, so many ways. Allowing a 2000-year-old immortal being to suck her blood dry. Suicide. Old Age. Nothing would work. Every single time, she called out from the page, manipulating us into granting her survival. She was under our skin. The writers actually have shot glasses that say “You’re Katherine Pierce. Suck it up.”
When Stefan ended the tragic life of Katherine Pierce for good, Katherine got the most unique post-death experience of any character who has ever died on The Vampire Diaries: She got sent to something that felt suspiciously like “hell.” So much running—but a girl’s Jimmy Choos can only take her so far. Her fate beyond death remains a mystery, but wherever she is, it’s safe to assume she’s not floating on a white cloud strumming a harp.
RIP, HBIC. You will be missed by some, forgotten by none.

The Vampire Diaries - Spoiler From TV Guide - 25th November 2014
Expect Damon and Alaric's bromance to hit a serious speed bump when Damon angers Alaric. How serious is it? One word: fisticuffs! In other heartbreaking news, Bonnie, who has thus far stayed strong in her crazy situation, will be dealt another crushing blow that leads to a breakdown.
The Originals - Spoiler From TV Line - 26th November 2014
I won’t lie to you, I’ve got some good news and some bad news: Executive producer Julie Plec says she does have big plans for Jaiden in 2015. The bad news? Those plans might involve one (or both) of them on Death’s door. She explains, “I get into fights with the writers because I’ll be pitching a story and I’ll say, ‘And this is where Josh dies,’ and they’ll be like, ‘No!’ And then I’ll say, ‘Well, this is probably the moment where Aiden should die,’ and everyone goes, ‘No!’ It’s juggling the beauty of this budding romance against the story of a vampire and a werewolf finding love with each other. I love that storyline so much, but one day, I might have to kill one of them. That’s just the way we roll.”
The Vampire Diaries - Spoilers From TV Line - 26th November 2014
Damon found Bonnie’s bear, anything else you can tease that’s ahead for “Bamon” fans on The Vampire Diaries?
Let’s just say you’re not crazy for seeing a strong connection between Bonnie and Damon, Renee. Despite Elena expressing a “glimmer” of hope for a romantic reunion, Damon is still focused on the mission at hand: Bring back Bonnie. And Ian Somerhalder, for one, wouldn’t be surprised if things turn spicy once the Bennett witch returns. “There’s an extraordinarily thin line between love and hate,” Somerhalder notes. “Due to the fact that these two hated each other, and had so many connections … it only seemed appropriate that they would be given a chance, due to the dynamics of their relationship.”
Do you have anything on my favorite Vampire Diaries character, Tyler?
What a coincidence, Jeanette, Tyler is one of Andy Swift’s favorite TVD characters, too! (Definitely in the Top 20, at least.) Anyway, Michael Trevino says Liv’s current dilemma will take up most of Tyler’s time. “He’s there for Liv and wants to protect her and make sure she’s not getting into trouble,” Trevino says. “She’s being so tough and a little bitchy at times towards him. He’s not used to that, so I like that Tyler’s having to deal with that this season. But we will see their relationship become stronger. He’s really smitten with that girl.”

The Originals - Spoiler From EW - 21st November 2014
With the return of Mikael in the Originals midseason finale, the always-and-forever siblings are going to have a lot of plotting to do. “As everyone’s gathering for the holidays, the villain count is growing, and it’s all going to come to a head,” executive producer Julie Plec says. Most importantly, Mikael’s return will result in the Destroyer coming face-to-face with wife Esther for the first time since Klaus killed her. But will he kiss her or kill her?

Now that Klaus faced (and killed!) his real father, everything will now build to Esther and Mikael's reunion — which will happen sooner than you think. "Esther and Mikael have an interesting problem — they're not together romantically, but share a responsibility for their children," executive producer Michael Narducci says. "Esther wants to find salvation for her children, while Mikael clearly wants to kill Klaus. Would Esther stand with her children against Mikael? Would Esther stand with her children against Klaus? When that reunion takes place, it'll be fraught with parental conflict."

The Originals - Yusuf Gatewod Promoted To Series Regular
We’ve got some bad news for Cami: Last night, she betrayed Finn Mikaelson—and now, it seems the eldest Original brother is going to be sticking around for a while.
Yusuf Gatewood, the man behind The Originals‘ “Finncent,” has been promoted to a series regular, EW has learned exclusively.
“We’re thrilled to annouce that Yusuf Gatewood has been promoted to series regular as of this winter,” executive producer Julie Plec said. “In addition to his incredible talent, he has been a joy to work with—committed, passionate, professional, kind and inspiring. We’re honored to have him as part of the family.”

Raise your hand if you kind of hate Stefan right now and think Caroline deserves way better than the jerk he's been this season?! "Caroline hoped that if Damon ever came back, she would get Stefan back too," executive producer Julie Plec tells me. "She's still very hurt, and he has amends to make, so we'll see in the coming episodes whether they can find a way to repair their friendship." And for all you Steroline fans, they need to repair the friendship first if they ever hope to have anything more than that between them.

Any scoop on when or how Damon and Elena's reuniting will go?! And how will Stefan deal with him coming back? #broment
From Vampire Diaries queen Julie Plec herself: "Now that Damon's finally back, he won't waste another second being without Elena. But with her memories compelled away, she's not nearly as enthused by the prospect of seeing him. Stefan was feeling lost, but the look on his face when Damon returned in last week's episode says it all. The bond between these brothers is stronger than ever." Julie adds, "When it comes to Damon, without the good, there's a whole lot of bad. And Elena's still very much focused on that. However, not knowing the full story of their relationship will eventually begin to gnaw at her, and she'll have to decide if that's something she can live with."
Now that Bonnie sent Damon home, have we seen the last of Kai on The Vampire Diaries?
Doesn't sound like it! Christopher Wood, the totally sane (and hot!) guy behind the mass-murdering, family-killing sociopath, told us we're going to learn more about Kai's past. "We know that the reason that he's locked in this prison world is because he massacred his family," Wood said. "But we don't necessarily quite know much about what he was like before that incident. Was he a good kid? Was he normal? Did something happen to him? Or was he always difficult and challenging and this was just one of many things that happened? We'll learn more about that as the show goes on."
I'm kind of scared by how much I'm loving Kai on The Vampire Diaries. What's he really up to?
We've been wondering that very same thing, so we went straight to the mass-murdering, sociopathic witch himself! "For me the most fun elements of Kai is learning what he can, can't and is trying to do," Chris Wood told us. "Nothing is ever what it seems with Kai and I think that his connection to Bonnie and Damon at the moment and what he wants to do and plans to do when he gets out of this prison world is going to be very exciting for fans to see."

The Vampire Diaries - Spoiler From TV Guide - 31st October 2014
The Vampire Diaries' BFFs Bonnie, Caroline and Elena are finally reuniting — in a flashback! The trio will appear together in the show's midseason finale.
In the episode, Bonnie (Kat Graham), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) return to their high school days in a flashback set in the show's first season in 2009. The scene will feature a big holiday gathering, and since we were on hand for the filming, we can promise an impressively festive set. Unfortunately, it's too soon to tell whether the girls are looking back on happier times or if Caroline and Elena are reminiscing about their long-gone best friend. But, if history has shown, the most joyful of Vampire Diaries events tend to end in a bloody massacre. (RIP Mayor Lockwood!)

The Originals - Spoiler From E! Online - 29th October 2014
Probably not as excited as we are, especially after we spoke with Joseph Morgan about how the original doppelganger Tatia affected Klaus and Elijah all those years ago. "We're really grateful to Nina for coming over to The Originals and for allowing us to finally tell that story," Morgan said. "I think it needed to be told. It definitely had a huge impact on who the brothers are today and their family in general. Klaus and Elijah both were certainly interested and invested in Tatia because they both loved her. It's absolutely going to give us more insight into their relationship because we're going to see how that love changed their family and how it all played out. The story that they told back on The Vampire Diaries is not exactly what went down and now we're going to find out what really happened."

The Originals - Web Series Confirmed With Dates
Double the Kol, double the fun.
Don't say The Originals' creative team doesn't listen to their fans because they're about give many of them exactly what they've been asking for: More Kol Mikaelson! E! News can exclusively reveal that the CW hit is launching a four-part digital series, The Originals: Awakening, sponsored by Target and centering on the youngest Original brother, with Nathaniel Buzolic reprising the fan favorite role. (Daniel Sharman currently plays the character on the series. It's a whole body-jumping witch thing.) We've also got your first look at Buzolic, who appeared via flashback in a recent episode, back in action.
Of returning to the role that scored him legions of loyal fans, Nathaniel Buzolic exclusively tells us he's "excited for fans to see a little more of Kol, the most misunderstood member of the Mikaelson family." Spoken like a true misunderstood Mikaelson family member!
Awakening will premiere on Monday, Nov. 10 on cwtv.com during the east coast airing of The Originals, with new episodes rolling out each Monday. With the series paralleling The Originals' storylines, fans can expect Awakening to directly tie into the midseason finale, airing on Dec. 8.
So what's the digital series about exactly? We're flashing back to 1914, with Kol on a quest to form an alliance with the witches of the French Quarter. And Awakening will gives fans answers to some major burning questions about Kol's past, including how and why he found himself up against his siblings, why he was daggered and the unique backstory he has with the NoLa witches.
Carina MacKenzie, a writer on The Originals, penned the Kol-centric series, telling us she was excited to delve into Kol's mischievous nature and previously untapped backstory.
"When we found out we were going to get to do a web series, I immediately thought of Kol—because his mischief has always been part of the fabric of the city. We know fromThe Vampire Diaries that Kol has a history with the witches of New Orleans, and we've kept that in mind since the very beginning of The Originals," she said. "In the web series fans will get to see how some events of last season can actually be traced back to Kol, and we'll reveal some clues as to his current agenda with Davina. Thanks to some body-swapping hijinks, we've got Daniel Sharman playing the character on the show now, but we're always super excited when we can bring Nathaniel Buzolic in for flashbacks. I had a great time working with him— he's hilarious, and just steps right back into Kol so brilliantly. And he's a really, really good sport about getting positively drenched in fake blood."

We, too, miss some of the (pun alert!) original cast. Fortunately, Charles Michael Davis tells us that as Marcel becomes more present in episodes to come, so will those ladies. "Davina and Cami are growing a lot stronger," he says. "But the relationship has changed because Marcel isn't necessarily there to protect or control them." Bonus scoop: Davis adds that Marcel and Hayley will finally begin working together. "Klaus calls Hayley the wolves' queen and Marcel is declaring that he's the king, so there's a mutual respect there for the royalty," he says.
